Mom
My mom is an angel. Literally has wings hidden somewhere. She teaches
music to inner-city kids, teaches piano after school, loves all of us with endless energy, and still finds it in her heart
not to strangle the annoying, but lovable dog at the end of her day.
When I grow up I want to be like her...no, really I do.

Dad
My Dad is the best man I've ever known. He's solid as a rock, funny, kind, wise, and gives great advice- the kind
that you hate to hear but know is right. Which is aggravating sometimes, but you get over it because you know he loves
you.
Incidentally, my Grammy is fantastic too. She's the matriarch of all matriarchs. And has a story about everthing-
man, she has lived.

My Brother and Sister (in law)
Chris is my older brother, and has blazed the way for my own mis-adventures with a few of his own. He is freakishly
intelligent, kind, generous, and loyal. Plus he can really burn, as Walt's mom says (this means to cook, in case y'all
aren't down with soul-food lingo).
Julia is his wife, and she is quirky, fun, fabulous, and has the most interesting tattoo I've ever seen. She's a
blast!

Walter's mom raised he and his four sisters essentially on her own. Since they turned out to be all college-educated
and outstanding human beings, you can tell what kind of person she is. The best!

This is Jake. He's the man that taught Walter how to be a man, how to drive, and how to be (mostly) diplomatic
in a house full of women. He's the greatest dad and grandad ever...and an excellent father-in-law too!

Sarah
Sarah is an 8th grade math teacher, and she must be crazy to do that. I wouldn't be caught dead. She's got
it all- brains, beauty, and a hot boyfriend. Plus she's a freak of nature like me (freak of nature being any woman over
5'8" tall)

Crystal is Walter's baby sister- one of them anyways. She gave birth to Vernell, the cutest baby in the world!

Walter's sisters Oody, Aisha, and Waheeda came out to visit this May (2004) for Kayah's graduation from BC. Sista
girl earned herself a Masters in Social work! Go Kayah! His sisters are all prime examples of beautiful, strong
black women living life on the right road.
